Topo Mini by Ergodriven | QGO Reviews
Feel & Aesthetics: 86/100
The Topo Mini by Ergodriven is the smaller, more compact version of the Topo Comfort Mat. The Topo Mini is the perfect size for vertically challenged folks like myself, as it feels comfortable just about any way you stand on it. The mat is made of a firm but comfortable anti-fatigue polyurethane, and has many ergonomic features, AKA “calculated terrain”, as shown below:
As someone who only uses their desk in the standing position, the feel of the Topo Mini is noticeably higher quality than similar mats. The “calculated terrain” makes all the difference in the feel of the mat. Being able to comfortably shift weight, massage, and avoid lower body and back strain makes all the difference, especially when standing for long periods of time.
When you aren’t standing, the Topo Mini stores easily. What the Topo Mini (severely) lacks in aesthetics, it more than makes up for it in feel and functionality.
Build Quality: 83/100
The build quality of the Topo Mini is commendable. It feels premium and made-to-last, with its polyurethane makeup and pebbled skin exterior. The aforementioned “calculated terrain”, is a clever, data-driven approach to comfort that really is the selling point of this mat.
Performance: 90/100
Through nearly 5 months of daily use, the Topo Mini has shown no signs of wear. This desk mat has noticeably quelled my lower body and back discomfort, and has even had a positive impact on my posture. While it isn’t a cure-all for standing discomfort, the Topo Mini does what it was designed to do extremely well.
Value: 77/100
If you told me I’d spend $70 on a desk mat, I would’ve asked if you were huffing glue again. While $70 for a standing mat is asinine, I can almost justify it by adding up all the yoga classes and chiropractor visits that it would take to get rid of my back aches. Key word there is almost. I am hesitant recommending this at it’s $70 price point, let alone the $100 price tag for the non-Mini version. In a universe where the Topo Mini retailed around $40, it would score a perfect 100/100 for value.
